Who we are
Step Up Initiative (“we”, “us”) offers a career assessment that helps Plus Two students and their parents choose courses and careers. This policy explains how we handle personal details on this website and when you email us. Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we are the “Data Fiduciary” for these details.
Some of our tools, like the Career Path Finder quiz, show their own privacy policy on the tool itself. That policy applies when you use the tool.
What we collect
When you visit this website
This website has no sign-up, no forms, no cookies and no analytics or advertising tools. Our fonts and images load from our own website, not from other companies.
Like every website, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical details for each visit: your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for and the time. These logs are used only to keep the website running and safe, and are deleted after a short time.
When you email us
- Your email address, your name if you share it, and your messages.
- What you choose to tell us about your studies, for example your Plus Two group and the courses you like.
- If a parent or guardian emails us for a student, the details they share.
We do not ask for your Aadhaar number, bank details, caste, religion or health details.
How we use it
- To reply to you and answer your questions about the assessment.
- To follow up on what you asked about. You can tell us to stop at any time.
- To keep the website safe from misuse and attacks.
We email you only after you email us first or agree to be contacted. To stop, just reply “STOP” or write to stepupinitiativeofficial@gmail.com.
If you are under 18
Many Plus Two students are under 18. Please email us together with your parent or guardian. A parent or guardian can ask us at any time to see, correct or delete their child’s details. We do not use a student’s details for advertising.
How long we keep it
- Website logs are kept for a short time by our hosting provider and then deleted.
- Your emails and contact details are kept while we are helping you. We delete them when you ask, or at most 2 years after we last spoke with you.
How we keep it safe
- This website uses a secure, encrypted connection (HTTPS).
- Only our team can see your emails, using protected accounts.
- If a data breach ever affects you, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board of India, as the law requires.
Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you (or your parent or guardian) can:
- Know what details we have about you and who we shared them with.
- Correct details that are wrong, or add missing ones.
- Delete your details.
- Take back your consent to be contacted.
- Name someone to use these rights for you if you cannot.
- Complain to us, and if you are not happy with our answer, to the Data Protection Board of India.
Using your rights is free. We may ask a few questions to confirm it is really you, so nobody else can see or delete your details.
